Settle in for Japanese Black Wagyu steak at lunchtime, or drop by in the evening for cocktails and sport on screen. BAR HEAVENS KITCHEN in Kyobashi offers options for both a proper meal and a night out at the bar.

Japanese Black Wagyu steak and hamburg steak are the mainstays of the lunch menu. Steak comes in 100g and 200g portions, and the menu also features A5-rank ribeye served medium rare. Choose between an original hamburg steak, made with Japanese Black Wagyu mince and cooked until tender, and a Japanese-style version topped with grated daikon, ponzu and shiso for a fresher finish. Both come with salad, soup and a choice of bread or rice. For a heartier meal, try the Double Dragon, with 2 hamburg steaks and cheese on one, or a steak-and-hamburg combination. Other lunch options include a roast beef rice bowl and a set with fried prawns and fillet cutlet, served with tartare sauce. One lunchtime diner also mentioned being able to go back for more at the salad bar.

The evening menu makes it easy to find a Western-style dish to suit your mood. The carbonara with thick-cut bacon and mushrooms has a rich sauce made with Hokkaido cream; the cream pasta with yuzu pepper and rock seaweed brings a peppery kick and savoury sea notes. Pizzas range from cured ham with Parmesan to seafood topped with small prawns, clams and squid. They are an easy choice when ordering something to share.

Drinks range from classic cocktails such as gin and tonic and Moscow mule to mojitos made with mint and lime. The whisky list covers a wide range of labels from different regions. One visitor recalled asking the bartender for suggestions and being introduced to an unusual drink. Pair a meal with a drink, or make the drinks the focus and add a few bar snacks.

For a longer evening or an after-party, there are 2 dartboards and a karaoke VIP room for 6–15 guests. Sports broadcasts, including baseball and football, are shown on selected dates, so check the schedule in advance if you are coming to watch a game.
